I mentioned 'Square foot gardening' at the Permaculture event last night (25/03/09). I have managed to track down the website if anyone fancies taking a look: www.squarefootgardening.com

Tetra Packs and Sweet Tins
The guy who runs our gardening club uses empty tetra packs as plant pots for seedlings. A great idea if you don't have recycling facilities in your area for them. Simply chop the container in half with a pair of scissors and poke a couple of holes through the bottom. Easy!
He also uses old sweet tins (e.g. Quality Street, Roses) for growing 'cut and come again' salad leaves in as they are easy to move around. You can start your salad leaves off on the windowsill then move them outside and easily bring them in again if the weather turns or you have slug problems.
Just goes to show that you really don't need a lot to start growing you own veg.
Thank you
Thank you for posting this. I was intrigued when you mentioned it and I will take a look :)
